Maternal Child Adolescent Health coordinates programs for women of childbearing years and children 0 to 18 years of age, as well as families with Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN). The program provides direct services such as free diapers (when available), Safe sleep Education -Cribs for Kids, outreach, education and referrals to community resources.

Components of the program are…

 

Perinatal Outreach and Education (POE) encourages early entry into prenatal care and targets women exposed to tobacco products.

Doula Services provide non-clinical services to pregnant or postpartum women, including education, informational, physical, and emotional supports.

Children Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) – provides accessible spaces at community events for CYSHCN. Support groups and educational trainings for Parents and Caregivers.

Prenatal Care Guidance (PCG) provides services that are aimed at getting women into prenatal care and encouraging them to follow through with their prenatal visits.

Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) A group that meets to help educate our community on child abuse prevention.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) provides community education and support to parents who have experienced SIDS. Free Pack n’ Play with Safe Sleep Education

Pregnant and Parenting Teens serves Lassen County's pregnant and parenting adolescents. It is designed to improve their health, social, and economic well-being and enhance their education.
