Lassen County has established an adult protective services program that includes but is not limited to the following:
- An emergency response system that provides in-person response 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to referrals of abuse to an elder or dependent adult for the purpose of providing immediate intake or intervention, or both, to new referrals involving immediate life threats and crises in existing cases.
- Case management.
- Information and referrals for community resources.
- Provide emergency shelter or in-home protection as resources are available.
- Lassen County APS will respond to all referrals that allege that an elder or dependent adult is a victim of or at risk of abuse as defined in WIC 15610.07 and 15752
Discrimination Complaints
Lassen County’s Community Social Services has a commitment to provide the same aid, benefits, and services to all individuals and groups and ensure that program activities are discrimination-free. Complaints of discrimination or retaliation may be filed with the county welfare department’s Civil Rights Coordinator or the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Civil Rights Section (CRS).
To file a complaint of discrimination or retaliation, you may complete the CDSS Complaint of Discrimination Form: GEN 1179
